Artist History Coxcomb was formed in early September '95. After meeting in high school and at parties, the band started out as a five piece: Joel -vox, Raul -guitar, Jose -bass, Beast -drums and Mike -trombone. We played a few shows at DMZ clubhouse, The Showcase, and many parties and fundraisers for various benefits, such as Amnesty International. We released our first demo called "1.99 no tax" in December '95 and a second called "U.B.S." in mid '96. As the years past, we grew musically and acquired new members. By mid ?7 the members consisted of Joel -vox, Raul -guitar, Symon -bass, Beast -drums, Mike -trombone, Seven -trumpet, Wally -trumpet, and Alex -trombone. We got bigger and better gigs playing clubs like White Rabbit, Wacky's, and The Reverb Lounge with such bands as Flat Planet, Inspector 7, The Skoidats, Slow Gherkin, The Pietasters, The Slackers, Otis Reem, Los Skarnales, Middlefinger, and others. So we soon released a third demo "Naturally We're Punx!" in 1997. Due to the incarceration of our Trombone player, Mike (In early '99) Coxcomb took a one year break. Now recently reformed, Coxcomb consists of 6 members: Seven- lead vox, trumpet, Mike- Trombone, Beast- drums, Raul- Guitar, Wally- Trumpet, CJ- bass, and everyone throws in back-up vocals where needed. We make almost everything we sell, like t-shirts, stickers, and videos. Our manager Yvette Delgado does our type setting and gets us in contact with some cool peeps. Coxcomb is currently in the process of recording our first CD, which should be out sometime in summer 2000. A few new songs have been written and we continue our search for the never ending keg ...As of May 2000,we've added a new member to the band, Caesar, who plays guitar. -Nolverto B.
