Artist History
It all began when I got the idea to start a band with two of my friends, Brandon James and Jeremy Reme. We called ourselves the Innocent Criminal. It was a typical garage band and we didn't play much anywhere. The only places were these: Brandon's dad's buisness party and an end of the school year party. About mid-summer, our band broke up because Jeremy was forced to move to his dad's house in New London, WI. Later in the summer of 1997, we reunited but with a new guitarist named Kelvin. Our name still remained the Innocent Criminals. After long sessions of practicing, we put together a set list and organized a show. We played the show at the Whiting Boat Housein Neenah, Wisconsin. In early seventh grade, we combined two of the bands I was in and added one more guitarist to our band and remained the Innocent Criminals. We also combined songs between the two bands and that gave us a pretty full set list to play from. The first place we played at was at the seventh grade talent show on May 22, 1998.We also performed at two parties, one at the end of the school year and one in the fall of '98 at the Whiting Boat House. Since then, our band has put together a completely different set list, but we still play some of our old songs. Also, we changed our name from the Innocent Criminals to The Vernons. In the month of August, The Vernons fired Max Sheppard, singer/guitarist, from the band. It was a tough decision, but Kelvin, Brandon, and Sam did it for the sake of the band. The Vernons then turned into a three piece punk rock band. Some time in the begining of the school year, our old guitarist, Jeremy Reme, moved backed to Neenah and was welcomed back into the band.In the fall of 2000 The Vernons decided to go their sepetate ways and Sam Brawner recorded 6 tracks at Justin Perkins studios in Neenah WI. |
