Press Reviews
Praise for Regenerated Headpiece and Rat Race Vacation :
From Chuck D (of Public Enemy):
"Regenerated Headpiece.... is it exclusive?... The CD sounds great.... a great album, Rat Race Vacation....great songs... it’s hot... If you need my endorsement to get a deal, let me know."
From Americore Magazine (www.americoremag.com)
...If any of the Mush or Anticon sounds inspire you, or even make you go hmmm, then you’ll wonder why an album of this quality hasn’t been jumped on yet by a bigger record label. It’s even weirder than Doseone, Sixtoo, Buck 65, Odd Nosdam, or Stuffed Animals, so you avant-rap aficionados take heed.
From Hip Hop Infinity (www.hiphopinfinity.com)
Regenerated Headpiece does not bring your average NYC hip hop flavor to the table... they definitely have their own sound, and they pull it off quite nicely.... Rat Race Vacation boasts very nice production...an abundance of impressive space-age synths, ill basslines and tight drums....The funky, futuristic production holds the album down for all of its twelve tracks, and Phon-X and Shred Lexicon sound better with each listen. And not to be forgotten, the third member of the Headpiece, DJ Exfyl, does an excellent job on the cut throughout the record.... a dope debut that can only lead to bigger and better things.
From Splendid E-Zine (www.splendidezine.com)
Regenerated Headpiece is all about what its name suggests -- expanding minds regardless of its effect on their wallets... they are obviously very smart... like Outkast, Regenerated Headpiece makes the whole hour worth listening to. No song here is filler...a welcome addition to the unfortunately small pantheon of smart, thoughtful, peace-increasing hip-hop records.

Who got added and why: “Rhythmically Rhyming” -- Regenerated Headpiece
Not rappers, but MCs, one of the points brought home in this undaground banger. RHP breaks it down lovely, so show them love and check this before everyone else does. Aboveground ain't ready!
Who got added and why: “Elements” -- Regenerated Headpiece
Regenerated Headpiece has some heat on this CD. "Elements" starts with the premise that Hip Hop’s core elements have influenced ALL our lives, adds some dope lyrics and with a sick type beat comes up with a possible future classic.
From Chuck D’s SlamJamz.com (reviews by JoshSam):
Regenerated Headpiece – Elements
From the opening of this song you know this isn’t anything ordinary... a celebration in content of all of Hip Hop’s elements.... seems that a lot of people have forgotten that they have much to thank hip hop for, this song is a reminder.... I enjoyed listening to this song, it put a smile on my face and really entertained me.
Regenerated Headpiece — Obese
This reminds me in a major way of Casuals "Me-Oh-Mi-Oh" - not a bad thing at all. Taking the term phat to the extreme, why just be phat when you can be obese? Being a sucker for that piano sound, this just draws me in. I enjoy listening to this, the flow, the lyrics, the production, everything just clicks for me, what more can I say? |
