Artist description Danny McGaw is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Manchester, England. He now resides in Santa Monica, CA, and currently earns his living as an independent musician. He writes songs from his heart about life, love, spirit, peace. He reveals beauty and truth in poetic lyricism, which, paired with his powerful and magnetic vocals, creates dynamics that range from melodic and gentle to torrentially soul-sweeping.

Artist History Danny’s obsession with music began at age 13 when he coveted his older brother’s � 5 ($8) les Paul imitation electric guitar. His father made him a deal: if Danny could learn to play the instrument that the family had, then in a year he could have his own. He accepted the challenge and to this day he plays the acoustic Epiphone guitar he earned 12 months later. At 16, Danny left home to pursue a professional soccer career. He served 2 years as an apprentice to a pro club in Manchester, while continuing to play and develop his passion for songwriting. When injury brought a premature end to his intended career, Danny packed his bags and his guitar and traveled to the isle of Jersey, in the English Channel. Once in Jersey, Danny began to play music in local bars and restaurants. He also worked as a bartender in the center of town. Years passed, and after a number of various employments, it became time to continue on his journey. After a friend offered to take Danny with him on a trip overseas, he landed in little Santa Monica, California with his backpack, his guitar, and � 400. He immediately found employment playing sets of cover songs at the Sagebrush Cantina in Culver City. This led to his getting gigs in several of the British pubs around town, including the Cock’n Bull, McCabe’s, and Ye Olde King’s Head. However, it wasn’t until Danny began to play at the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade that his life as a songwriter and performer truly began to blossom. Down on the Promenade, Danny met a fellow singer/songwriter named Michael Gans. They teamed up to form a duo they called “Third and Arizona,” which is the street corner at which they first jammed. After gaining popularity in Santa Monica for several months, they bought an RV together and made plans to travel. Third and Arizona toured in every city they could from San Diego up to Seattle, including San Francisco where they performed at Mill Valley’s famous “Sweet Water” They parted ways after reaching Yellowstone, and Danny headed back to California. Danny continues to perform in local venues such as Highland Grounds, Fais Do Do, and the Unurban Coffee House, to name a few. He is currently forming a band, and is making plans to record his third album.
