Artist description
Graduated in Business Adm. and Electric Engineering, Camilo Has always left his musical talents as a second priority or HOBBY. Over the past 14 years has developed a parallel career joining 9 different bands, rehearsing, playing live, recording in studios, studying music and playing the guitar and
singing MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), English and Portuguese pop, rock, jazz and folk tunes. The composing skills are being developed gradually, but lyrics are not a hard issue, especially when it comes to deep philosophic topics, always using figurative language and a bit of humor. |

Artist History
Camilo has initiated playing the nylon acustic guitar and singing at the age of 14. He has learned around 120 brazilian popular songs in a 1.5-year-span. As an NHS award gift, his parents bought him a 12-string steel folk guitar and Camilo started playing American country and classic rock music as well. As a H.S. Sophomore, he joined the school's ensemble choir for two dinner show set-ups (American oldies and Beatles) singing and dancing. He also took part in talent shows in and outside of school grounds, as his musical influences grew in the early 80's.
He then joined a conservatoire in feb.'86 to study theory, percussion and electric guitar. During '87, his skills improved noticeably and by dec. he joined his first rock cover band as the lead singer and solo guitar. Their 1st gig lasted for 6 hours at a bar inauguration with an extensive repertoire. In aug.'88, however, he Graduated from B.A. College and took a full-time job, initiating a career which would only be voluntarily interrupted in june'2001, when his mother died of lung cancer. Along these 14 years, he had been in 9 well structured bands,
taken part in several organic music workshops and interacted with many musicians and styles. He performed in auditoriums, outside stages, clubs, schools, several pubs, sometimes showing the band's exclusive creations, otherwise doing famous cover songs for audiences of up to 2,500 people. Camilo has decided to release his first solo album to launch a musical career. He has put together a home studio for virtual MIDI and audio editing and wants to share, through mp3.com this and other future works. |
