Artist History It all started back in fall –95, Johan (singer/guitarist) had just got off stage at a gig in oxelösund when Daniel (bass player)Came to him and asked if he wanted to sing in his band, well it seemed like a tough question but the answer was yes!Now everyone who is involved in a rock band knows that breaking up with it, can compares to breaking up with a girlfriend you have lived with for a long time. Therefore, Johan, who only was a singer at that time wanted to have his guitarist with him into the new band and there it was, a new rock band was born! Daniel and his brother Erik (drummer) had played together for a couple of years with some guys, first as a Nirvana-inspired music to play some sort of pop with a dj scratching vinyl… Well, they got rid of him and we started playing pop-core. The band was called “Amber”. Time went on and musicians came and went, some playing in other bands, some stopped playing for good. Even Erik put down his drumsticks, Johan and Danne, still together kept on playing with some other guys, now under the name “Jerry’s hatchet” but after a while the rehearsals merely ceased to exist, So there they were…Two guys with a lot of passion to create music had now nothing… This was approximately in fall –97. For almost a year, there was nothing… In winter –98 Johan and Daniel met each other at a party. Johan (intoxicated and with play abstinence) dreamt in his drunkenness to start up something again. Danne, an angel personified, (Johan) remembered thinking when Daniel said that he had fixed a rehearsal studio, and from nothing, two guys and souls filled with spirit and passion started playing some new material. After a couple of weeks, we found a drummer but it never felt like he was ambitious or just as serious as Johan and Daniel were… Nevertheless, we kept on playing. Meanwhile a person named Andreas even called ‘pipen’ (don’t ask why) paid some visits to our studio and came up to Johan at various local pubs and discotheques to (of course drunk) tell how much he liked the music and that he would surely fit the band’s style, well Johan, in a weak moment, felt that it sound like a good idea to have one more guitarist to fill the sound with. And he began to play with us! We sort of ditched the drummer after several confrontations about the band’s future concerning with or without him, so after a couple of weeks Johan met Daniel’s brother Erik, the former drummer in “Amber” at a concert. Johan, drunk again, asked if he wanted to pick up his sticks once more to join our group. He seemed more than happy about the proposal! We called him and he joined us! That was in the late summer of –99. So, this is the end of the history trip, now we have a bright future to look forward to… GROUP INFO: When Daniel, Johan, Erik and Andreas had formed the group there were some discussions about the group name. Once we called us “Amber”, after a song by Starmarket, but isn’t there a band called that already? Well we didn’t want to get in trouble so we thought that we could add “Lynn” after the porno actress Amber Lynn. Well we could maybe get into trouble while using that name too so; we decided to change the name a little. No offence Amber, we love you anyway…
