Artist History
Back in ol' 1991 Nanok and his friend Svante Lodén spent a week together with a sampler and a synthesizer in a small apartment i Lund in southern Sweden. They playfully produced a number of sweet techno- and hiphop-tracks. Naturally the bathroom was used as a reverb on Svantes vocals. Since then a lot has happened. Svante and Nanok worked together for years in the band Agurk Players (Svante as singer, and Nanok as scratch-DJ), resulting in a full-length cd and several live tours all over Europe. Nanok has worked with the outstanding swedish technoproducer Håkan Lidbo producing a twelve-inch for Sweden and Great Britain (also released on compilation in Taiwan), and has featured on several other albums (for instance Jay-Jay Johanson and Singer). A number of clubs has also given Nanok more than ten years of experience as a DJ. Today Nanok adventure into that musical environment you call house/garage/techno (mostly Detroit-style) as well as pure beats and triphop/hiphop. Since august 2000 Nanok (+ co-workers) has grown roots in a very inspiring bombshelter from the time of World War II (including a hand-pumped aircondition-system!) on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, Sweden. This studio, with the ample name: "King's Island Studio", has so far produced a number of pumping tracks; alternating wetween the garage/trance you find above, as well as pure beats/hiphop/rap-sounds for a new and, in deed, jilted generation |
