Artist description
Musical genre - Kajeem declines reggae in every sense; he mixes with harmony ragga, reggae and soul and creates a new sound, which reconciles the 70s mystical reggae roots with the current digital sound. The African melodies and sonority, which are more present than ever before, are here to give Kajeems sound its particular identity, so difficult to grab. - TEXTS - Kajeems texts, with its never denied poetical lyrics, are full of different African oral expression forms and manage to stay in line with the Western poetic written form. Then, the symbolism of the African oral expression is combined with the subtlety of the Western idioms (mostly French) in order to give a new form of singing poesy enriched with African wisdom and therefore, more lively. MESSAGE - With a very strong social impact, Kajeems message is full of fights and hope. A fight against all forms of oppression, injustices, and hope with his will to support the willpower of the persecuted and to re-energise the vigilance of the wimps.People have often criticised me because I raise more question than answers when it comes to my music, my clothing style and my statements. The truth is that I am constantly questioning myself- and then I will never be an answer. - Kajeem" - |
