Artist description
Chris and Karen weave together original and traditional repertoire with understated yet passionate vocals. A true partnership in the sense that they both write songs, they trade off on guitar and mandolin, and sing in harmony exquisitley. Their reverence for folk music traditions is at the heart of who they are, and is a constant influence in their songwriting and live performances. |

Artist History
Both former actors, Chris and Karen began playing music together in 1997, when they were working for the American Folklore Theatre in Door County, Wisconsin. Karen, originally from New England, first fell in love with traditional music while playing in the Irish pubs of New York City. Chris grew up in east Tennessee (on Rock and Roll) and years later came to love the mountain music that his great-grandfather played. The duo moved to Austin in the spring of '99, and have been extremely well received in over thirty Austin venues. They recently opened for Annie Gallup, and will open for Buddy Mondlock this spring. |
