Artist History
Formed in 1997 by Blake Johnson, originally from Coeburn, VA. Blake, as vocalist and lead guitar player, started playing with Beth Finney on drums. After this they recruited David Church of Elkin, NC as rhythm guitarist. Matt Miller of Elkin was then picked to play bass. When Beth left the band, Blindsight discovered Tim Wright, a very talented musician from Temperance, MI, to be the perfect fit for a drummer. When Matt left the band, Blindsight found Elkin native Darrell Hawks to fill in for bass. As the band progressed over the next year, they decided to put Blake solely on vocals, and that is when Zach Giles, from Winston, NC, joined the band as an additional guitarist.Blindsight has played with many great bands, including Codeseven, Swift, Big Slow Wreck, and the Movielife. They have released two CDs, both of which were recorded at Clever Records, the studio owned and operated by Jamie King of Swift. Blindsight broke up during the summer of 2000, but the music is still available through this site and the bands official web site. |
