Artist description
LITTLEJOHN is a rock, funk, reggae band with a big bottom end bass sound. Tony Littlejohn, on guitar and lead vocals, fronts the band with songs inspired by JAH. Lyrics deal with issues of oppression, poverty, belief in JAH, and doing what is true and good. Younger brother, bass player TC Littlejohn is gifted with the ability to create new riffs that develop into songs that become new LITTLEJOHN material. He plays 4 and 5 string bass, and on their favourite songs, gives LITTLEJOHN a Funky bass feel. The softer, lighter Littlejohn material was primarily written by Tony alone with TC's bass talent added to the completed song. "Littlejohn" overall cover a range of feels from roots reggae through to pop easy listening. |

Artist History
Tony Littlejohn and his brother TC Littlejohn have created their own music since they were kids. Tony has played guitar and sung, with his younger brother TC backing on bass. They played around Rotorua in their early years and toured the North Island extensively. Tony moved to Australia in the early 1980's, and explored the music scene in Sydney and Brisbane. He formed a band called "GHETTO" and began to compose the first of what are now his well loved songs. Terrence stayed in New Zealand playing bass with a variety of funk, jazz and fusion groups. When Tony returned from Australia, he put together a New Zealand version of "GHETTO" with TC on bass, and toured the North Island again. After a time, "GHETTO" members went their own ways until just Tony and TC remained. They developed more original music during the late 1980's and into the '90's. At this stage the two brothers did individual projects with totally different people. TC focused on the Jazz Fusion feel, with his own band called "Greenstone" and Tony carried on composing more original songs and developing them in the studio with session players. Which brings us to the present day, wherin LITTLEJOHN has now completed their first double CD "RIGHT OCCASION" and is currently producing their second album, and several video clips for release internationally. |
