    Artist History
Nine Lost Children became a band at the classrooms of a High School in La Laguna, Tenerife. In September of 1997, Arturo (Guitar) and Hugo (Vocals and Guitar) met in one of the classes, in between conversations, it came out Hugo´s idea of forming a band. Arturo had been playing the guitar for a while, so in a few months he shared his knowledge with his new pal. By Jamming and rehearsing at Arturo´s house living room and kitchen time went by and some songs started to shape up with rythm samples and no bass. In October of 1997 we met a drummer who was playing with a friend´s band. We went over to his house and played a couple of times, he ended up playing with us. Then we tried to recycle the bassist of this guy´s band, but it didn´t work out. On the other hand, we knew Bea, who was playing the guitar in a girls band called "Shin Shentido-Non Sense", we talked her in and she joined the band playing bass. That´s how we started a new stage of personal and musical growing; we used to do some nice lil´ pop and rock tunes, although most of them have droped out of our repertoire. We gave out our first gig in March ´98, and so on about 10 or 12 live acts until the fights among the drummer and the rest of the band made us decide to fire him. It was the stress of coexistence, the excessive intimacy and his disrespect towards us, and also the all time famous musical differences. The anxiety of this situation made us broke relationships in November ´98. That summer two great things happened: "From Now On Everyday Will Be Summer" was written and we met a left handed drummer who was playing in a grunge band from Santa Cruz. After dealing with a missing percussionist on board, we called him up, and so he signed for us. We rehearsed for some time, we ruled out some oldies, and on Chistmas Day 1998, Nine Lost Children was playing at a capital´s High School. The music wasn´t bad, though the evolution towards a personal and risky sound turned us more experimental and so we started to check out other fields like Indie, Techno, Jungle, Noise, Trip Hop, Drum & Bass, Break Beat or Dance. In June ´99 we signed Guille in, who would manage with the programming, loops and samplers. In the middlle of August the assimilation problems of the new sound by the drummer made Eduardo quit, still we keep great memories from him.One night, after messing around with a demo we had just recorded, we went out for a walk in La Laguna, outside a bar we met Fernando who had just quit his band. We had known each other for a long time, we used to study at the same school. We shared some ideas and ilusions and after listening to a demo, one of the greatest drummers of the island joined the project. With Guille and Fer the old songs became fresh and the new ones went into another dimension to sound even better. The insistence, the faith on the project, and most of all the hard work are starting to show results...
