Artist History
The Poets originated from Oceanside, New York, on suburban Long Island. After capturing the admiration of their home town, they partnered with Ken Cabrera, their producer and manager. Fustrated by a complacent LI music scene, The Poets and their visionary manager started the LI Underground Original Music Scene out of a converted warehouse that became affectionately known as The Raven. The Raven became the modern equivalent of NYC's CBGBs. Many original bands celebrated their music by playing along side The Poets to a multitude of enthusiastic fans. The Raven today has gone on to become LI's #1 rated rehearsal and performance studio thanks to the ambition of manager Ken Cabrera and the spark of The Poets. |
