Artist History
The Leeches were formed in 1979 and named themselves after the movie "The Attack of the Giant Leeches". They played all the local juke joints in the Greater Chicagoland Area until the early Eighties when they opened for well-known bands like the Ramones, Billy Bragg, and John Cale, among others. They released a vinyl EP in 1986 which sold well in Europe and California, but miserably in their hometown. Because of this disappointment, they broke up in 1988. Press Reviews
My favorite review was sent in by a Norwegian fan. It was in a Norwegian Rock Magazine, and our review followed a review of David Bowie's. To this day, I have no idea if it was positive or negative, but I'm going to guess positive because the fan, in broken English, sounded very enthused. |
