Artist History
We've been around since '95, with an extensive history of touring in the US and Canada. We've released one full length CD, "Flip F'real", on Moon Ska NYC. Of late we've been sticking close to the midwest, mainly hunkered down in our hometown of Detroit, writing and gigging relentlessly, feverishly pushing out the edges of the stretchy ska envelope. |

Press Reviews
from Tower "Pulse!" Magazine:"Few neo-ska bands capture the intense musicality of the Skatalites, but Detroit band the Articles is so dazzling in its hot blending of ska, reggae, and jazz they may represent a new prophetic strain of ska. Flip F'Real (Moon Ska, 4 and 1/2 stars) does more than bump Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk tunes into ska rhythms - it literally screams with the energy of early Jamaican R&B as translated through the Motor City. Prophets to make you flip indeed!" - Norman Weinstein |
