Artist History
PISSING RAZORS 'CAST DOWN THE PLAGUE' PISSING RAZORS burst onto the metal scene just over a year ago with the release of their self-titled debut album, which was backed up with mammoth European and U.S. tours in support of Pro-Pain. The praise that was heaped on their dynamic performances proved that they could cut the mustard live as well as on record....and now they are back to reinforce the point. Hailing from El Paso, Texas, PISSING RAZORS originally formed in 1995 when drummer Eddy Garcia, guitarist Matt Lynch and bass player Rick Valles teamed up with exotically named original vocalist 'Loco' Pelon. He didn't last too long in the band, but was at least responsible for the band's name; upon getting a dose of the clap, he was heard to mention that |

Press Reviews
Pantera had better watch their backs for Pissing Razors have come up with an album that will strike terror - or mild panic at the very least! - into the masters! Last year's self-titled debut release was rightly hailed as a mini-masterpiece around the world, and 'Cast Down ...' has wisely been built upon an almost identical Sepultura/Fear Factory/ Pantera/Machine Head-inspired framework. Tellingly, former Sabbat guitarist Andy Sneap has also handled the production once again, boosting Matt Lynch's already asphyxiating axe rumblings in the mix, and sharpening the cut and thrust of the rhythm section to a violous, rapier-like point. Stand too close and a tune like 'Survival Of Time' will have your bloody eye out! The quartet from El Paso, Texas, certainly believe in simplicity, and their material is hewn from the toughest, most durable materials they can find; partly from the most extreme hard rock you can find, yet also incorporating the glistening steel girders favoured by the likes of Fear Factory. Lynch places the emphasis on distorted, detuned guitar solos, but with Pissing Razors the riff is always king, and 'Boxed Life', 'Train Of Thought' and 'Forever' are among the most full-on guitar onslaughts that you'll hear this side of the millennium. Of course, this would all count for little were it not for the invaluable contribution of Joe Rodriguez a vocalist - and I use the term loosely - who screams, bellows and roars like a leper being dipped in a bath of malt vinegar. To hear is to believe. Dark, moody, vicious and little short of psychopathic, 'Cast Down The Plague' is the album your neighbours will hate you for owning. Check it out today.
