Artist History
I've been composing music (mostly playing the piano) since I was... well, a lot younger than I am today. Back in 1994 I got a program called Scream Tracker from a friend, and there I was, stuck at my computer making some STM's and MOD's. (I even wrote a program that converted STM's to MOD's, using reverse engineering - I only had a couple of MOD-files and a MOD-player to test with!)Well, anyhow, I made a couple of hit covers and some compositions of my own, developing a sense for using as few channels as possible for maximum polyphony, placing those tracker-notes to sound the way I aimed for and the mission impossible of creating clickless sample loops.I made an 'album' with the help of a friend of mine with a CD-writer (which were rare those days) using FastTracker II - a great program to make what they call Extended Modules (XM) - which I sold about 30 copies of. (The CDR's were expensive by then)In October 1997 I bought my EWS64XL and went from tracking to sequencing. First I used MIDI tracks alone, because I wasn't able to get sync with Audio. After a while I succeeded to get sync, and everything I did was made up of audio tracks only. Sure, I created notes and such with MIDI, but then I sampled it to audio, edited the sound and added realtime effects. The EWS64 was replaced by an SB Live! in October '00. So basically, that's all that has changed so far... |
