Press Reviews
“Better Than The Truth is both elegant and aching...”
Phil Wilding, Producer, The Breakfast Show, BBC 6 Music, UK

Lynn Parsons, DJ, BBC Radio 2, UK

Chris Hawkins, DJ, BBC 6 Music, UK
“I love Better Than The Truth!”
Hayley Chapman, Producer, BBC Radio 2, UK
“Better Than The Truth is an excellent song. It’s well written, arranged, produced and performed… The hookiest tune I’ve heard Mark do yet…”
Trace Ventura, DJ, CFOX FM, Vancouver, Canada
“Better Than The Truth is Mark Crozer’s greatest material to date. I love it!”
Chris Brandt, DJ, CITR FM, Vancouver, Canada
“A very hypnotic guitar signature on Going Home Time… it kind of reminds me The Smiths and XTC in their English Settlement phase with that infectious ear-candy!! Wonderful!!”
Mark Bignell, DJ, CFRO FM, Vancouver, Canada
“A Tragic Man opts for a spot of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds-style marshmallow-soft psychedelia, while going home time is the best of the lot, drawing in a few subtle Indian influences while noodling along like some early Dire Straits soundtrack in pleasantly sullen fashion...”
Nightshift Magazine, Oxford, UK
“I've always been a firm believer that any artist who can make a song happen with simply one instrument and their voice is truly a master of their craft and Mark C does just that… His choruses and melodies are very memorable.”
Canadian-music.com
“Mark Crozer sings smoothly and usually softly, with a confidently beautiful but very masculine voice that is somehow both soporific and insistent. On about half the songs, it's just an acoustic guitar and this voice, singing about unrequited love, self-discovery, even, on the nearly deathly slow title track, pollution and politics. He's been compared to Elliott Smith and fellow Brit Nick Drake, but when the electric guitar and drums kick in, on Better Than The Truth and I Can’t Get You Off My Mind, you might be reminded more of Badfinger and Big Star. (The keyboard intro in A Tragic Man is distinctly more Beatles-y.) But whether it's a stripped-down post-folk or catchy layered pop tune, Crozer's lyrics are full of images of waves, tides, the sky and precious glimpses of light.”
Janis Mckenzie, Discorder Magazine, Vancouver, Canada
