Artist History
From the opening chords of "Falling Further In" to the epic last track "After the Rain," Jessica Weiser's new album AFTER SILENCE is a journey that demands attention. Recorded with producer Paul Smith (Badlees, Darcie Miner, Breaking Benjamin) at Saturation Acres studios, AFTER SILENCE is a record that captivates with passionate songs, clever lyrics, and a voice that ranges from powerful and soaring to sweet and full of emotion.
Weiser’s smooth urban tunes combine elements of pop and rock. Her rich and melodic piano and guitar rhythms are moving and sincere, and she bares her soul with smart, honest songwriting addressing political and social issues, and her own life. Weiser is a 2001 recipient of a B.E.A.M. Emerging Artist grant (sponsored by Jim Beam) and her music has been featured on several national compilation albums. In 1998 she released WHAT HAS HAPPENED, an EP recorded in Vancouver, B.C., and in 1999 she recorded TRANSITION, an EP that she recorded in her studio apartment. Both albums are now sold out of their first runs. She has played to sold-out crowds at venues like C’est What in Toronto and The Living Room in New York City, and fans have described her sets as “breathtaking” and that she “stunned the audience to silence.”

Press Reviews
1998 independently released EP (produced by Adam Drake/Jessica Weiser), voted one of CDBABY.COMs 50 best independent albums of the year (1999) out of over 18,000 albums in CDBABYs catalog! "One of the best new albums I've heard lately comes from independent singer-songwriter JESSICA WEISER. a 1995 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and 1999 graduate of Ball State University. Her second album.'Transition', is the follow-up to her 1998 EP release 'What Has Happened'. Look for a full review in these pages soon. This kid has talent". -Steve Hammer, Nuvo Newsweekly Her songs are exquisite. - Peter Bryant, 88.5 FM (Sydney, Australia) "Surprisingly confident debut. Sparse, warm folk instrumentation showcases a strong, subtle voice I think we'll hear more of" -Ralph Alfonso, Nettwerk Records This is highly revealing material, and devastatingly sincere, as Weiser's lyrics are straight forward and raw with truth - gorgeous. -Don Kimenker, Earbuzz.com CEO |
