Artist description
A high energy 7 piece swing band from Seattle. Vocalist HB Radke has shared the stage with the likes of Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. HB vocal style has been likened to a young Sinatra with a dash of Louis Prima thrown in at times. |

Artist History
Formed in 1995 out of almost 15 years with his own wildly popular big band (not bad for
only an almost-30-something) HB Radke has led society bands, disco revivals, posh hotel
quartets (you couldn't afford it) and spent several years producing and pumping out
industrial rap dance music to the kids (chart busting, baby). In combining all these elements,
he has created a scene full of attitude, style, and energy, loved by all, and considered
mentally stable by three out of four psychologists. Who else would croon "Went to see a
picture show, found myself an empty row... same old Saturday night" and dedicate it to Pee
Wee Herman, "one of the finest motion picture actors of our time?" Or spin a Lindy-Hop
out of hits by the Village People and KC and the Sunshine Band?
Backing up the group's tongue-firmly-in-cheek performances is an authentic musical
background direct from the original sources. They have all worked with the founders of the
musical style, from Sinatra to Prima, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Steve Allen, Harry James,
Buddy Greco and beyond, from the deserts of Las Vegas to the shores of Atlantic City.
Their arrangements and medleys are crisp, lively, and sometimes twisted.
The last year has seen this band become HOT on the music scene. Although NOT
johnny-jump-on-the-band-wagons to the swing scene (they've been performing this music
since way before it was the hot new trend) the public and media is embracing HB Radke &
the Jet City Swingers with sophisticated frenzy. They have appeared on the Tom Lykis Show
(#1 nationally syndicated shock-jock radio); NBA, NFL, National League Baseball, Indy
Racing openers and half-times; sold out club shows and concerts around the US; and are in
their fourth year at regular Tuesday night gig.
