Artist description
Henrie Moodie, Artistic Director of Harlem Opera, explores both traditional repertoire as well as venturing into new musical avenues for the twenty-first century.
His performance repertoire encompasses both symphonic as well as operatic works. These excerpts,under his musical direction, were RECORDED LIVE AT PERFORMANCES.
He studied operatic conducting with the great Italian-American Conductor,Maestro Vincent La Selva, at The Juilliard School,
and also served as Assistant Conductor to Mr. Peter Bellino at Mannes College of Music in New York.
He is the first black South African conductor to conduct two of South Africa's major symphony
orchestras, as well as, conduct operatic productions in three of Southern Africa's major opera houses.
He has been the Artistic Director of Harlem Opera,since May 1997.
