Artist History
The Double Naught Spies were formed in the spring of 1996 and include former members of Atomic Boy (Victory Records) and The Visionaries (Wrecking Ball Records). The band includes Rick Hromadka and Ed Jaffe, Ron Pak and Andrew Komanacky. A fixture within the ?LA Pop Scene? the band draws from a heavy Beatles/70's rock influence with close attention to melody and dynamics. This summer?s highly anticipated release of their debut album The Shoephone Conspiracy (Cherry Boy Records) with engineer/co-producer Richard Bosworth (Dramarama, Wondermints, the Knack) at the helm has brought the band international notoriety. Double Naught Spies have been reviewed in such publications as Billboard, LA Times, LA Weekly, BAM Magazine and Entertainment Today, as well as a variety of internet sites. They were featured at this years Poptopia Festival and last year?s International Pop Overthrow Festival in Los Angeles. Songwriter Rick Hromadka has penned tunes for television and film projects like the new Breaker High on Fox, as well as Sweet Valley High. The band was also featured on the soundtrack to the Power Rangers movie Turbo, and in "King Cobra", released through Trimark Pictures. Double Naught Spies also have music on a variety of compilation albums like ?Pop This? from last year?s Poptopia Festival and the International Pop Overthrow CD (Del-Fi Records) featuring the single ?Sonny & Cher?, and this summer will release a song on the Swedish pop label Yesterday Girl Records. The band can also be found on this summer?s Rock and Pop CD samplers from Columbia House featuring various new artists ?on the rise?. The Shoephone Conspiracy has already had airplay on KROQ, Y107, KXLU, and KFI locally, and has also been featured on a variety of internet radio shows |
