Artist description
Breech evokes a stark purity, exploring both rock's darker soul and delicate pleasures. Breech is raw, gutsy, frail, tainted with the stain of life and to the bone. |

Artist History
Breech embodies the musical vision of singer/songwriter Missy Gibson, originally from Detroit. Breech has established itself as one of L.A.'s most compelling, up and coming acts. Within a year of moving to L.A., Missy signed a publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing and released a self-titled EP produced by Matt Thorne (the Eels, Plastilina Mosh, Skeleton Key), followed by a cd single ("Junk"). The band just released its new full-length cd "Apron Strings" in conjunction with a successful 12-city midwest tour in June 2002. As a seasoned L.A. band, Breech has a large following and continues to perform at a variety of venues on a regular basis. They have opened for Weezer, Liz Phair, Jeff Buckley, Tracy Bonham, The Spinanes, Graham Parker, and Royal Trux, among others. Breech's past accomplishments also include touring as a third stage act for 1995's Lollapalooza, as well as appearing twice on Ed McMahon's "Next Big Star" and having a song featured prominently in a recent episode of "Dawsons Creek". |

Press Reviews
From the LA Weekly -- Breech singer Missy Gibson is at her best naked. The raw place from which she bellows, whispers, cries and spits out her words fels a lot like being unclothed. From her early days... to the current full band lineup, Gibson has been steadfast about bringing the show literally into the audience, wandering about and quite often scaring the shit out of many an unsuspecting onlooker. On their debut EP, Breech -jointly produced with Matt Thorne - the band has successfully captured this hiden-in-the-cracks electrical energy, giving it free rein to unleash howling, growling and writhing on your living-room floor.(continued at http://www.breech.com/press.htm ) |
