Artist description
Last year's regional hit, "Rock Star," didn't exactly make San Diego's Elegant Bachelors a household name like, say, N'Sync and Brittany Spears. Perhaps the pop world of 1995 simply wasn't ready to meet a band that strives to fuse punk rock attitude, folk-rock heart, mariachi stylings, disco allure, and little bits and pieces of practically anything else that's registered a blip on the Elegant Bachelors cultural radar. But that situation might change with the release of the band's first album, "Still Elegant After All These Years." |

Group Members
The Elegant Bachelors foundation is the instrumental triumvirate of Pat Salisbury on electric guitar, Rich Cave on bass, and Craig Murray on drums and percussion. These guys create rock-solid backdrops that expertly mimic various strains of country and western, funk, soul, reggae, rock, and other musics without falling prey to mocking them, as otherworldly brethren Guns and Roses sometimes seemed to. Rob Anfuso supplies much of the group's exotic shadings with his guitar; he also contributes singing. A lot of the sardonic humor and passion comes courtesy of Pete Kellers, who sings and writes most of the songs, and also plays acoustic guitar and saxophone. |
