Artist History "Tatevarí" is the spirit of the fire. The Huichol people live fundamentally in the mountains of Jalisco and Nayarit, in Mexico. They have very old customs, and they have a special relationship with the nature. They try to feed their "Iyari", their spiritual heart. By means of fasts, sexual abstinence and other procedures, the shamans of the group -the "Maraacame"- try to increase their "Nierica", the power of their supernatural vision. They receive teachings of everything: they assist to the visions that appear in their dreams and also when they ingest "Híkuri", a cactus of the desert called Peyote. "Híkuri" respond them their questions, and their voice comes from anything : he could speak you through a rock, a puma or from the air. It is always different for each person. The Huicholes, like other people of this world, are true scanners. They look for without stopping. In this page are my own explorations with sounds, voices and percussions. I hope that my music also to be a source of inspiration for another, as well as the Huicholes inspires us with their acts.
