Random Monkey is a two-piece artist comprising of Rob and Ed. We make our music on computers using external synths and live instruments. We've gone through some genre evolution since we began, first making generic drum and bass, and now making a variety of music such as Trance, Soundscapes and other exotic funniness. |

Press Reviews
It’s always terribly difficult to be original in music; and especially so in a genre such as drum’n’bass, where the same breaks seem to be utilized over and over again ad infinitum. The Random Monkey boys have made no quantum leaps beatwise – but their programming is very good, and best of all, pretty funky. However, it’s the melodic elements that make Song For Sab a standout track. Featuring a host of orchestral elements – violin stabs, huge chord swells and deep pads - all perched atop a full rolling bassline, they have concocted a dramatic, grandiose sound. It’s reminiscent of a d’n’b version of Hybrid’s symphonic breakbeat classic Finished Symphony, which is high praise indeed. Extremely impressive young producers. (BrynR) |
