Artist History
No longer together, Odd One Out rocked the stage from January 2000 until July 2001, when most members left the bands' hometown of Penticton to continue their schooling at different Universities. At their songwriting peak, Odd One Out showed some promise of maturing past the stereotypical 'high-school ska band.' Evidence of this could be seen in some of the latest work, unfortunately these songs were never recorded. Such songs as 'Thugs in The Mosh Pit,' 'Rave Song Part 2,' and from the album 'Game Over' showcased the true Odd One Out that could have thrived through the rest of a lengthy career. Their debut/final full length album portrayed an ability to write songs for everyone. From Hardcore Punk ('Solitaire,' 'Distractions'), to ska ('Cargo Pants,' 'Odd One Anti-Me,' 'Skeemo,' 'Melancholy'), to skate punk ('Punk Rawk Anthem', 'Game Over'), to pop punk ('What's The Point?,' 'Steppin' Out,' 'Something For Everyone'), to emo ('Brendan Is A Sensitive Guy') all with a defining horn sound. Look for a reunion sometime in the future. Hopefully sooner rather than later, if only even for one show. |
