Artist description
Mark Lesseraux is a unique singer/composer/performer with a sound that ranges from soulful to atmospheric. His impressive vocal range, poetic lyrics and genre-defying instrumentation combine to create a very original package. Mark sings, plays piano/keyboards & guitar, discovers unusual sounds and ways of producing them, and helps mix, record and arrange his material. His music is atmospheric, playful, metaphysical and ultimately transformational. |

Artist History
Mark's theatrical beginnings manifested on the fields of Little League baseball, where as an undersized child he began imitating (with astounding accuracy, we might add) the batting and throwing styles of the '77-'78 New York Yankees. Mark grew up on Beatles and Michael Jackson records with Gregorian chants floating in the background, and even replaced the batting glove on his left hand with a white glove in his early high school years. After breaking his leg playing basketball at 16, Mark took up singing and piano playing (funny, the power of the subconscious mind). From then on, no one knows quite what happened, except that Mark's musical style and subject matter evolved into something very original and very compelling... |

Press Reviews
"A formidable debut cd, Metamorphoses is an interesting mix of sound eperimentation and melody. East Village Avenues 03/98. Ghostpulse evokes a strong sense of mood. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes frightening, sometimes playful. Mark's vocals are poignant and his piano playing is simple, but effective. Martin Feld,New Music Paper 4/2000 |
