Artist description
6 successful experienced St. Louis musicians came together to form The Linda Gaal Band in the summer of 1999. The band wrote and recorded it's debut album, Mars Calling Venus using all of it's members' multi-influenced creativity. The result is an excellent example of modern melodic rock that takes the listener on a ride through a myriad of sonic hills and valleys. |

Artist History
Having never had any formal vocal training or music classes, Linda has an ear for music. She began singing and writing songs at age 8, and went on to perform at local and national events, including the Children's Miracle Network Telethon, the Lilith Fair Regional Talent Search, Star Mania Talent Search Competition in Las Vegas and sang the national anthem at the 1997 National Soccer Finals for the St. Louis Storm. Linda has been singing in bands since 1995. She fronted three local bands: the Shrinking Violets, the UltraViolets and SQuiNT. In 1997, she sang backup for local-band-gone-national, Radio Iodine, and performed at such venues as St. Louis' Riverport Amphitheatre and other amphitheaters in the midwest. Linda has written music as a solo artist and with other bands. She wrote songs with the late John Rudebeck and Brian Smith from the St. Louis band MindOverSoul for her debut, 5-song EP titled "So You Think You Know Me" produced by SGM and released July, 1999. Her first fulllength CD, "Mars Calling Venus", was released in Augustof 2000.With the aforementioned bands in which she has performed, Linda has played with such national acts as Live, Smashmouth, Sugar Ray, Christina Aguillera, Fastball, Blessed Union of Souls, Citizen King and Ton Loc. Most unique about her is that Linda has an older brother who was born unable to speak. She considers her voice something she will never take for granted.
