Artist description
Have you ever watched Robocop 3 twice in one day? Well, consider the way that made you feel about life and imagine that feeling expressed through music. It sucks, doesn't it? Here at this site you can find information about the band, some of our songs and transcribed lyrics (we throw our lyrics away). We will upload some photos of the band once we find one. Until then, you can settle for this spooky picture of Zeke the Plumber on the left, or the posters in the photo gallery. If you have any questions , send them to me at dstewart_02@yahoo.com. Right now, we are in the process of uploading all of our songs and artwork so that you may buy our DAM cd's. Until then, if you wish to order a cd, send 4 dollars plus necessary shipping to Tammy Hester at 519 Players Ridge, Hickory, NC, 28601. You could also order the deluxe package for 12 dollars: all 4 albums plus whatever else we decide to throw into the deal. Trust me, you won't be let down... well, you might. Please buy something though, and have your fortune told today... |

Artist History
Formed in 1999, sometime in the Fall, The Fortune Tellers swept America with the release of their debut Album: "Happy Birthday: Turn Left to What You Stupid Bitch", a last minute idea for a birthday present for their friend... The album flopped and only has one copy in existance. It featured such horrible tracks as "Happy Birthday" and "Scagnetti"; both involved little effort. In fact, one of the songs was just a poor recording of the Are You Afraid of the Dark themesong. The Fortune Tellers needed a new sound. Band Members Tammy Hester and John Anderson decided to add the talents of Rhonda Allman and Paul Shiffel (both had worked with them before, doing soundtracks for DAD FILMS...) to their fine musical blend. The result was chemistry. They soon released Apollo 13, their first album as an entire group. The album made a profit financially, and more importantly did not violate the artistic integrity the band had worked hard to maintain. Apollo 13 featured songs such as "Field of Dreams" and "Children of Erosion". This album is a classic, and though the songs tend to be long and drawn out, Apollo 13 will perhaps never recieve the critical acclaim it deserves. After a month of thinking about what they had done, The Fortune Tellers went back to Argon Studios to begin work on Dennis Died (a tribute to a boy with cancer). The band had at this point began experimenting with new musical elements, adding new instruments, styles, and guest performers. Unfortunately some of the band members had also began experimenting with other things.... These were wild times for the fortune tellers, who had all at one point admitted to Turner abuse. Perhaps things hit bottom when the album release was delayed, due to Tammy Hester and Paul Shiffel's overdose at the studio. However, the band members are now "clean" and Dennis Died was released. Though the recording quality, like in Apollo 13, was not the best in the world, this album was actually very well made and has recieved quite a bit of critical and financial success. The Fortune Tellers then decided to go on their first tour, "The Golden Child World Tour", all while in the process of releasing their recently completed album "Mowtown", dazzling their fans with new and improved recording technology and style. The Fortune Tellers may have no longer be on any sort of substance abuse, but had not lost their wild side. Band members Tammy Hester and John Anderson had to escape imprisonment sometime around January, narrowly escaping the police in a mountain escapade, which will further be described in an upcoming interview with the band. This ordeal somewhat delayed the release of "Mowtown", but the band insisted that the album is worth the wait, and it was. Though some may critisize the album as being "commercial", the band strongly disagrees and insists that The Fortune Tellers could never be a commercial band, even if they tried. In May, The Fortune Tellers completed their album, The David Wall. This was a soundtrack to an upcoming film that has yet to be made. The band spent a month on The David Wall and decided to go back on tour, rather than filming the movie. In an interview with Tammy Hester, not much could be said about the decision: "We realized that the movie would be a lot of work, and we simply weren't ready for the challenge. We wanted to stick with our music..." The Fortune Tellers then hit the nation with a stunning announcement. 2 new members were added to the group early in the summer: Carnage (who's music is feautured on mp3.com) and Draculadoo (who continues to evade the public eye). With the inclusion of these members, the band changed the shape of their sound, and began doing work in Titanium Studios. Now, they have churned out 4 albums and are ready to do another. Each album is an original masterpiece: "Bruce: The Peel Sessions", "Marco Polo (flagship)", "Looking Into Infinity (immortal conclusions) A tribute to Bo White", and their latest: "Vodek" . Astonishing... |
