Artist History
"Dibbs" and Dean were original members of the groundbreaking Rockibilly band "Levi and the Rockats" in 1979. They performed on "The Midnight Special", and "The Merv Griffin Show" before breaking up in 1980. "Dibbs" went on to front "The Rockats" and became a major star in Japan.During rehearsals for a "Rockats" tour of Japan, "Dibbs" and Dean got together in Los Angeles in 1995 to record a few songs. Dean called in his brother Barry on bass and Stuart Johnson on drums. Barry and Stuart were in the premier "Lounge" band at the time LOVE JONES (Swingers Soundtrack). The recording proved that "Dibbs" had some great songs on his hands, but the band didn't regroup to cut a whole album until the Summer of 2000. In the interim "Dibbs" had moved to Austrialia and then back to London. Dean, Barry and Stuart were performing in the Cousin Lovers when Stuart wasn't running off as the drummer for the New Radicals or Matthew Sweet. |
