Artist description
Six piece rock band, with emphasis on live performance. Format varies throughout the evenings performance, from 4 piece backing with two vocalists, to power trio, to acoustic solo, to power sextet (and THAT'S something to see)...have had a rep as one of the loudest bands in our area. Blondi and Super Heroin are major hams, embarrasingly so. they jump, they bounce, they scream at each other, and sweat flings everywhere. |

Artist History
It's a 5-year story, I will summarize as best I can. Blondi was languishing in a power trio called Big Lizard. Sufferimg there, he was, mightily, because the bass player had behavioral problems. Teresa (a.k.a Super Heroin), Adam, and DRS666 were languishing in a band called Night Potion - and suffering mightily due to the coke and alcohol induced lunacy of the other members. Chris was languishing in a band Who's Name I Forget, and suffering along thru a succession of female singers who insidiously forgot the lyrics to every song...and Benny was just plain languishing. Blondi, Chris, Teresa, Mark, and Adam all met at a monday-night jam/open mike thing held at a place in Framingham MA that was called Boomerangs, but is now a juvie courthouse (nice switch!) and subsequently Blondi invited Adam to sit in on a gig he'd booked, and on which Big Lizard's shit-for-brains bass player had bailed due to aforementioned behavioural problems. Chris, T, and DRS666 caught wind of the infamous pick-up gig and insisted on being included...Blondi said, "...what the hell, the more the merrier..." or something like that, I forget exactly...It was a tremendous gig, we all came, the earth moved, so on and so forth, blah, blah, blah. Two weeks later, Adam, T, and DRS666 told the screaming junkies in Night Potion seeyalatah! and Chris ran screaming from his band to join up - not wanting to be left out of the hijinks - and Kewl was formed...then proceeded our two-year-long imitation of Spinal Tap, wherein we could not keep a fucking drummer for more than a couple months. Then, one evening Kewl got double-booked (ooooh how that does suck, doesn't it? Fucking airhead club owners) and the other band got to the club first (and of course the drummer we had at that time had also told us, that night, he wanted to bail, since he figured his couple months were up), so Blondi and Adam went to Greene Acres in Ashland, MA to piss and moan and play darts...serendipitously, Benny was there, hanging around, and, recognizing Adam (High School chums, they were) asked, "Hey I've been looking to get into playing drums again, know any bands looking for a drummer?" heh, heh, heh...we drugged him, and he hasn't left since... Helen Killer was born of the original Kewl, with DRS666 and T heading off to other activities, and lasted about 2 years...about August of '00, Teresa and DRS666 were jonesing heavily for performing, as were Blondi, Adam, Chris, and Benny (since HK had taken to languishing itself, only playing about once every three months)...T booked a gig at Greene Acres, and we did it as Kewl2K...as before, we all came, the earth moved, so on and so forth. Which brings us to the present moment...now go listen to the songs.
Addendum, added 1/31/2002: AS you may imagine, having six people in a band is fine, as long as one is the alpha personality, and the rest are enthusiastic drones. This is never the case, and so I can take about 12-14 months of this six-piece madness (the previous iteration of this mess, "Kewl", lasted about this long) before feeling the need to sreamand throw things. Tomorrow evening, friday 2/1/2002, is the last gig I'm doing with BGU, after which I'm off to a three piece project, for which I will likely steal the bass player and drummer away. I donty know if I'll ever post the entirety of Serendipitous Clams here, if you read this and want to hear some of the remaning numbers, bug me about it, from the Blondi von Slagdevicz site - Robb Millett (a.k.a Blondi von Slagdevicz) 1/31/200 |
