Artist History
Originlally formed in 1994 in the small town of Farmington, ME, The Rockwells are dedicated to bringing back Rock and Roll Music for it's own sake. Bothered with the current state of popular music, The Rockwells have sworn to lead The Revolution to get true, pure, undiluted rock back into the collective conciousness. The history of the band is a long and convoluted one. Originally a three piece "retro" band, Guitarist Matthew Lewis, Bassist Christopher Neal and Drummer Brian Chick planted the seeds with a small, informal jam, and called themselves "Whoopie Pickle".Soon they recruited Guitarist Ian Lewis and Singer Peter Newsom, and rechristened themselves as "Paint". In 1996, after a hiatus, the five men regrouped under the moniker of "The Rockwells." Pete left shortly after, and Brian stepped up from the drum throne to lead mic. Drum chores were passed to Mr. Matthew "Moon" Wotton, but the joy was short lived. Soon, Brian left, and Moon was quick to follow. Another hiatus ensued, this one broken by the three surviving members (Matt, Ian, and Chris) recording a Christmas Song with session drummer Gordon Shumway. Gordon refused to join full time; his paranoid fear of public appearance prevents him from even being photographed. After recording a six song demo ("Victims of Circumstance") with Gordon, The Rockwells hired Ryan Gill to pour some gas on the fire. Now The Rockwells are ready to rock with the best of them. Join the Revolution! |
