Artist History
Selber (self) was founded in 1996 by Roger, Raffi and Silvano. The trio rehearsed its way through Industrial-Hardcore and Industrial-Punk before it started to develop his unique brand of bleepy noises, chloroformed sounds, staggering rythms, disturbed guitar-chords and the speech-singing. Although the sound hasn't got to do anything with it anymore Selber stayed true to the punk-roots and to the sweetest lie in rock-history ever: "anyone can play guitar". |

Press Reviews
Visions, october 1999"Toxic Delicacies" is the demo of the cranky swiss trio Selber called and the band does in fact sound like the hobby of three slightly disturbed students of medicine on drugs and after too many dissections: hauling riffs that just can about haul themselves over the finishing-line, handcrafted loops and beats from the clinical pure "sick weirdo"-departement and there's a feeble-minded-morbid breeze of doom abroad the whole record. Especially succinct is Silvano Cerutti's recitative-singing that sounds like the waste-product of the attempt to mix the genetic material of a mountain-goat on heat with Neubauten's Blixa Bargeld's semen. Sick stuff for sick people but thrilling.Ingo Neumayer |
