    Press Reviews
OMNIA Music, (Review after winning the "Hidden Treasures" Monthly Competition) MINDVIBE / Still hear it ."Trance is massive. Love it or hate it, it's a huge phenomenon and it's here to stay. Unfortunately this means that it's given birth to an infinite number of average, and below average, trance producers desperately trying to emulate the style either for a quick profit or to recreate that euphoric sensation that sent them wild in the clubs. There is also a myth that trance is easy to write, but believe me, it isn't. It's easy to write cheesy bog-standard trance, but true quality trance is very tricky. And when trance is done properly, it can be breathtaking... as this offering by Mindvibe is. Now, the reason trance is perceived as easy to write is that it is quite a formulaic genre of music. There are rules to adhere to, and as long as you follow them well the rest is yours to play with, and that's where the talent comes in. Rule #1 is production. Any trance track must be produced to a very high standard, and this certainly is. Rule #2 is tension and release. Any good trance track must build up excitement and tension, swelling and falling in waves of sheer excitement, and this track excels here. There is only one significant breakdown (presumably it is the radio edit), but even so the structure is extremely sound and all the different movements are in exactly the right place. Rule #3 is optional but popular: add a female vocal. And there is a great one in this track, morphed ever so slightly to give it a certain robotic chic (think Daft Punk). Combine these elements with some memorable hooks and arpegs, and you've got a trance stormer that is both listenable and danceable in equal amounts".""
