Artist History
From the Blind Lemon in Cleveland to the House of Blues in Chicago, Hearsay T.A.O. has made many audiences through out the mid-west hungry for the newest addition to the metal music scene. Although they are young, they have already made a tremendous impact in Toledo, being the youngest regional band to ever headline at the Toledo premier music club, The Main Event. Besides a collection of packed headlining shows, Hearsay has played with touring national acts P.O.D., The Guano Apes, Clutch, Mindless Self Indulgence, Spineshank, Relative Ash, Factory 81, and Cold.
Hearsay began in January of 1999. Originally, the band was a foursome consisting of Alan on bass, Chris playing guitar, Steve beating the drums and Jeremy singing. They thought that their sound needed something extra to make them complete. They added long time friend and turntablist DJ Prophet later that year. Most recently, the quintet picked up a sixth member, keyboardist Todd Wehrle.
Currently, the six piece just finished recording a follow up full length to their successful first album released in July of 2000. The new disc will be available in the spring of 2002. The second album will take their style to a new level, leaving the hip-hop roots and simple riffs in the past. The new songs have been described to sound like a super heavy Radiohead.
With influences as diverse as Radiohead to Mudvayne to Thursday to Tool, there is no telling what music lies in the future. Nothing is too distant or far out. Hearsay T.A.O. is growing and will continue to change music with their unique, limitless music style.
