Press Reviews
A truly captivating blend of alternative-prog rock is what Build YourOwn Monster delivers on this 15 song CD. A cacophony of soundsranging from an almost emo angle to a more modest alternative tintto the absolutely intriguing blend of noise and samples. A trulyinteresting and original concept all of its own. The songs on GIANTSIZED WONDERMENT are only part of the draw here, the collectionof samples and loops at the end of the CD are extremely enthralling.Stand out tracks, aside from the bonus stuff, includes "Lazy Halos,""Letter to Roosevelt" and "Lame Brain." Oh, I'm sorry, I forgotto mention samples frommovies that star oversized, mutated, and very angry ants. The band has onecriterion for songwriting: "Do we like it?" I've gottatell ya, it's really nice to hear a band that'scompletely different. -SUSAN WATERS, JESTER.COM |
