Artist description
The 88th mark is a five piece (six if you count the guest cello player) metalband from around the Los Angeles area. They have been playing their hellishmusic together for about four years now. The band combines your basichardcore music with a more complicated, majestic side of music. At timesdouble-bass, drop-D-tuned guitars, and wretched vocals kick your ass. And atother times the band becomes a sort of electric opus, featuring a celloplayer during live performances. If you like loud and heavy download this.If you like slow and beautiful download this. You will not be disappointed. -hamilton

Press Reviews
The 88th Mark play hard, they play fast, they play some good music. What's their sound? at times... similar to bands like Enewetak and Unruh, but they also throw in a good amount of dark sounding metal, so the two even out perfectly. Fast and loud, to slow and sluggish. Its a hard combo to pull off, but The 88th Mark does it well. At times they even sound, dare i say, black metal-ish. Get this if you like hard, agressive music...You won't be dissapointed." -Seth Brown/ Status Magazine #12 "We played a show with the 88th Mark last year at a karate studio in Thousand Oaks, CA...when the 88th Mark starting playing, the kids went apeshit and started putting on kick-boxing helmets and gloves... The only thing I remember after that is some nut jumping up and down in the middle of the crowd, smacking people with something that looked like a huge, deadly q-tip. Awesome..."- End on End |
