    Artist History
    Trevor "The Technician" McKenzie has been mixing and operating out of Australia for the last 5.5 years. He is a member of the Dub Funk Assoication (Tanty Records). The technician has worked with Tony "Skygazer" Ashley in the past to create what most would call Original Dub Plates Mix downs.....The Technician, A.K.A. "Amigo", "The second half of Prediction RidDim Section", "The sound engineer at the BBMC (Mixing Live bands Willesden) 1984 - 1989", Was introduced to DUB in 1975-1976 by Rudulf Richards, joined the band Prediction (a North West London band) in 1979, and went on to release several records with them through "Santic Records" and predictions own label. The Technician has also mixed and recorded band rehearsal for ISIS, The Session Players (A combination of many bands in NW London), Classic Black and Asher Mark. The Tracks "A FAMILY AFFAIR" & "TROJAN HORSE are two tracks produced, played and mixed by The Technician, who's efforts have been a great addition to the Dub Funk collective and features on the CD from Tanty Records "SOUNDS OF THE HEAVYWEIGHT" (TNTYCD 005) 1999. From Australia the Technician has linked up with Alpha and Omega to re-mix "Show me a Purpose". The mix carried out for Alpha and Omega is called "Zion's Purpose", which has been release on the French label Bangarang June 16th 2001. The Technician and also Link up with Messian Dread (Nuff Respect) to remix "Good Fight Dub" Now know as The Technician Meets Messian Dread III Check it out ?The Technician' has also linked up with Wayne 'The Negotiator' Huf, for the post mastering of his tracks. The Technician has kept in constant contact with Kelvin Richard of Tanty Records and as part of the Dub Funk Association created , mixed and produced "East of Bacchus Marsh" for the consumption of all Dub lovers featured on the CD "ROOTS OF DUB FUNK" (TNTYCD 006).Trevor has also been working on a personal project, a trilogy of dub albums call "Eve of Destruction", "Day of Destruction" and "The Day After". Just finished Chemical Dub and working on Biblical Outcome. Watch out for this killer selection of Dub’s All Tracks are made using a computer but are all hand mixed via a Manual Mixing Desk, in the traditional Style. Although the Technician has moved to Australia for a better quality of family life, he still produces and mixes the same quality of Dub some have been called "Sound System Killers". Some may say "The Technician is from the Old School" and he would reply, "Yes I am" THE "Technicians" British Influences are: Prediction, Tony "Skygazer" Ashley, The Ruff Cut Crew (Stone Bridge) Longsy D & Pinky, David "Quincy" White (Nuff Respect), Slim (Eden ISIS), Blood Shanti and George Davis (Drum Dynamics).THE "Technicians" West Indian Influences are: Augustus Pablo, The Soul Syndicate, Horace Andy, King Tubby, Scientist, Glenmore Brown, The Observer and Yabby You.

    Instruments
    All Instruments (Except for Tracks with Skygazer), Mixing of all tracks The Technician setup is Purely PC Base. The PC used is a Pentium II PC running Windows NT 4. The Technician uses a Soundblaster (AWE32) and Turtle Beach (Montego) Card with 2 Yamaha DB50 XG Daughter boards Plugged into both to produce 4 Tracks (The True/Old style of mixing Dub) into a Tascam 4 Track Portastudio or a Pea Vey 3014 reference mixing desk . The outboard equipment (Effects), are a Pea Vey Ultra Verb, Boss DD2, Boss DD6 Multitap Echo Chamber and a Boss Rev 3 Unit. All Flang or phase type effect are producted by the EQ on the Mixing board in use. The Sequencing software used are Cakewalk Professional 3.0 for laying the tracks down and Cakewalk Professional Audio 9 for Mix down. The tape media used was a DAT for mastering which was carried out on a Sony DTC-60ES with 20Bit Processing. The amp is a Kenwood Dolby Pro logic surround sound with a Technics graphic EQ. The Speakers used for monitoring are Tannoy 6 Limited addition series. All Track were manually mix by The Technician in the tradition and style used in JA in the early years of dub. All Post Mastering is carried out on Pentium III Windows 98 (2nd addition) workstation, using Cakewalk 9.x with Pulsar/Creamware software by Wayne
