Artist History
The band was originally founded in 1995 and has played regularly throughout the regional area. Hailing from the small town of Dover, Ohio Saucebox takes a no bullshit approach to their music. The bands slogan is No Bullshit Straight Forward Rock!!!! Power chords and the keep it simple stupid mentality fuel the band toward their style of music. Their style of music has been called alternative/rock/hard rock/punk although the band just considers their music good old rock. The band consists of Tom Grinder on Guitar, Mike Lyon on Vocals and Guitar, Chad (Mongo) Schupbach on Bass, and Earl Russell on Drums. The band has had numerous personnel changes throughout the years, but the core of Lyon and Grinder has remained constant. The current line up is the strongest to date and the most productive and successful. Typical lyrics are about drinking, relationship woes, personal decisions, and hanging out with friends. The band has just released their second full length CD entitled Grow Up recorded at Joes Garage in Massillon, Ohio and has received numerous positive reviews. The disc contains the bands strongest material to date. Saucebox is currently working on material for a third full length CD while supporting the current release. |
