Artist History
First formed in the early parts of 2001. Platypi was created by Drew to have an outlet for his music, and to be able to jam around with friends and musicians. Zach, Jeff, Jesse, and Paul (The musicians on the Platypi Acousti-q gig) joined in, and after only a handful of practices they played their first gig, the Platypi Acoust-Q. After the gig, Platypi took a little break, Jeff went to college, Zach, Jesse, and Paul continued on in their main project Moonshine. After a rather tedious search for musicians Drew came across long time friend Dave Peixoto (Drummer), Karthik Suresh (Basser), and Matt Carrier (Guitar-er?). After numerous practices, Matt left the band, and Drew picked up the guitar to fill up the silence. Their first gig together was plagued by technical problems, but the band shined through, and had a great response from those that attended. Now looking to fill in guitar spots, Platypi picked up a sax section comprising of two Johns, and an Andy. |
