    Artist History
Scot Gordon, Born June 25, 1970 in Tokyo Japan. After high school graduation Scot started the band Steady State with his longtime friend Doug Petz. The two continued to write songs until 1990, occasionally performing together at local dance clubs. Deciding that the part time jobs they had were not earning enough money to get the equipment required to perform, they enlisted. During the next four years in the Air Force, Scot continued to write music. He managed to write over 40 songs during trips to England, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. In January of 1999, Scot created the act Scary Valentine with another long time friend of his, Shari Valenta. Combining the cutting edge sound of European dance music with moody American choruses, Scary Valentine shown a fresh electronic musical style never before heard in the United States. In the year 2000 Scot hit an emotional bottom. Scary Valentine had to break up because of his adoration for the lead singer who was engaged to another of his friends. The company he was working for declared bankruptcy and his job was to be terminated. In a short period of time he lost his band, his job, his friends and the love of his life. Where does one go from there? Out of pure spite for the misfortunes that befell him, Scot started a solo project called Hermit Bastard (The name being a true reflection of his current social life and the last insult of a heated argument when ending his prior act). With 1 month until the debut album release of Pure Dramaā€™s new LP which Scot helped produce, they asked him to open their album release party. With less then a month to put something together, Scot wrote 10 songs and managed to open the show with a full set. Some of those songs included ā€œStrong Feelingsā€, "Chandi" and "Every Word you Say". The show was a huge success and Scot continued as Hermit Bastard from then on. During the summer of 2001 Scot saw countless #1 songs on MP3.com including Crazy Women, Friend of my Soul and Boxerat. In the summer of 2002 Scot packed his bags and went on a road trip to find new inspiration. Some of the digital pictures he took on that trip can be seen in his website diary. After resettling in Seattle and writing a new set of music, Scot will debut the DVD-ROM Ripped 44.1 in 2003. This will include 3 years of solo works including 45 unique songs and 26 instrumentals. He will be the first in the music industry to release his music exclusively in DVD-ROM format.

Every time Scot Gordon AKA Hermit Bastard sits down to write a song he has one thing in mind. I want to create a sound that no one has ever heard before. Scot is addicted to new sounds. He loves technology and all the ways it can be used to create cool sounds. From those unique audioscapes Scot forms songs. He has always believed that simple is better when it comes to writing a good song. He believes that a person shouldnt have to think very hard when listening to music. They should be taken away and transported to another place or dimension. Hermit Bastard accomplishes this and fills the trip with adventurous new sounds and great beats along the way. Being addicted to new things Scot has applied his visionary style to House, Industrial, Trance, Techno, Trip Hop, EBM, Dance and Drum and Bass. All together you are guaranteed a unique and rewarding Alternative Electronic experience.
