Artist History
Wireneck is a four piece group from Statesboro,Georgia. The members Chris Rushing (guitar),Brian Prevatt(drums), Will Rushing (bass), and Jeff Rushing (vocals). They started playing together around 1998, and realized they had potential for creating great music. In February of 1999,they recorded their First EP.."ABC`s and 123`s" in Columbia SC. It was released one month later, and with determination and support from family and friends, the EP recieved great sales and started a strong buzz in statesboro and surrounding areas. Many of their new found fans were now inquiring about an entire album. The songs they had,the money they didnt. Working and playing gigs became a priority, in order to raise money. In August of 1999, they were back in the studio, but after 2 days of recording in Charleston S.C., hurricane floyd decided to make a presence and threatened to hit the SC coast delaying the completion of the recording. Due to other commitments, November was the earliest they could finish the process,During November, the buzz about the cd grew and they were picked up by a LOCAL PROMOTER/DISTRIBUTOR,and now MANAGER. In January of 2000, the new "Self titled" WIRENECK cd hit stores. IT has been described as having an "Alternative EMo METAL" Sound. Sales have taken off locally, which has fueld Wireneck`s desire to take their music world wide.

Press Reviews
Erupting out of the deep South come Wireneck, a promising underground group that
shows loads of potential with their latest batch of demo material. Wireneck are
comprised of the brothers Jeff, Will and Chris Rushing, and Brian Prevatt on
drums. Ever since Hanson struck it big with their pop fluff Mmm-bop, there has
been a stigma placed upon any young group that are largely family based, even
those that are heavy and raw such as Wireneck. Luckily, this is not just a
nu-metal Hanson, and it would be absurd to even ponder the assumption. This is
a band that can compile some incredible epic songs (two of the four songs are
over 6 minutes in length), ranging from intense almost metalcore styled
screaming to surprisingly in depth melodic singing, and that is just vocally.
Musically Wireneck has what it takes, as they can cover major ground, from hard
rock to interesting alternative groove with ease. Tracks like Old Friends and
Change My Mind should help Wireneck climb a few steps up the ladder towards a
record deal, although the band certainly still have some room to grow. These
demos definitely have the quality to spark underground interest, which is always
the first step in the right direction. Once the band tightens the loose cogs in
the machine, and Jeff finds what works best for himself vocally, the sky is the
limit.
