Artist description
PHAM! is a three piece power pop, rock and roll trio. Led by producer/songwriter Bob Porembski, their new CD "ac-ro-nym..." is full of jingly jangly rock and roll guitars and BIG three part harmonies. From the pounding opening drums of "Good Morning, I Love You" to the majectic ending of "Never Too Late to Find Love", producer Porembski has created a sonic landscape that takes the listener into the good time, humorous and often thought provoking pop world of PHAM! |

Artist History
PHAM! "A Brand New Band with a History."Maybe you can’t go home again, but you can go someplace else! PHAM!, in some cosmic Einsteinian way, has done just that. PHAM! has transcended time and space and distance by recreating what they once had -- a dynamic, original and great rock and roll band -- while stretching beyond their previous limits to create something brand new. Songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and producer Bob Porembski - drummer, songwriter, vocalist Ken Higgins - and bassist, vocalist Jim Murphy not only put their musical talents together to form the band, they put the first letters of their last names together as well to form the acronym -- the band’s name -- PHAM! The trio performed virtually non-stop for over 10 years in the New York tri-state area. At the peak of their popularity, anywhere from 1500 to 3000 people would squeeze into auditoriums and teen clubs to enjoy the band’s unique harmony. PHAM! not only played the hits of the day but also chronicled the times with their finely crafted pop tunes, written by Bob and his oft times collaborator, Ken. The story of PHAM! is one of camaraderie, talent and perseverance. Their new CD “ac-ro-nym...”, is an album with 1960’s rock sensibility that takes full advantage of the fidelity of 21st Century technology. It captures the part of PHAM! that once was and redefines what PHAM! is now. When all is said and done, it is, after all, the music that matters. PHAM! Not the same, different. By the way, in all battles of the bands, PHAM! remains undefeated at 3-0... |

Press Reviews
“Remember when you were drivin' down an open road (maybe you even smoked a little pot) and America's "Horse With No Name" came on? Or am I older than everyone reading this review? You knew every word and, well, you just secretly wished that you could keep heading down a winding road towards a constantly disappearing horizon? That's what PHAM!’s "ac-ro-nym..." does for me. I am a sucker for a well written song and great harmonies. These are not youngsters but guys who are old enough to be “hip” without having to try to be. The second cut "(What's Become of?) Florence" is a song that could have been a hit in any of the last four decades. But that's what well-crafted songs that are written from the heart do. They transcend trends, eras and whims. If you ever need an America meets Barenaked Ladies meets Let's Go Surfin’, skipping down the highway singing la la la fix, then I think you might have found what you are looking for in "ac-ro-nym...".”.....Kate Hart, President, joerecords.com. |
