Artist description
Peter Barshay "Pit of Fashion" marks a new direction for this bass player/ composer. After years of touring and performing he has put together his own supergroup of jazz greats. With a roster that highlights a who’s who of today’s contemporary jazz scene, they fashion a vibrant whole, much greater than the sum of its parts. Having soaked up a lifetime of sounds on both coasts, everything from salsa and straight ahead funk–fusion, avant garde and music derived from Afro-Cuban and Brazilian traditions, Peter Barshay brings a wealth of experiences and sounds to the table on "Pit Of Fashion" with the common thread being the deeply rooted sound of his upright bass. |
