Artist History
Fine to Drive has been a South (San Francisco) Bay-Area band for a little over three years. Their self-released 7" is available in most stores that carry indi-7"'s and the band's new cut "Hog Moth" kicks so much ass that it was selected as the lead track on PopSmear Records' only sampler "our bands are better than your bands." The band has the rare distinction of being extremely heavy while still presenting well-crafted songs. Fine to Drive will be punishing house PA's everywhere along the west coast in '99 including dates in Canada. |

Press Reviews
The following is some of the band's recent press. (If you have any to ad, please let us know.) This collection is notcomprehensive, but it should give you a good idea of what’s being written about the band’s music and shows of late. Listen.com - Fine to Drive (CD Review) ". . .chunky, abrasive yet catchy riffs, menacing yet (sometimes) tuneful vocal lines, and their looping and edgy grooves aresurprisingly infectuous. . . .songs that would be Top 10 singles in alternative universe. [Fine to Drive] could easily hold theirown with maniacs like The Jesus Lizard and the Cows." Skratch - Fine to Drive (CD Review) "Slayze twangs his voice with cold compasion. Rusty, scrapey metallic strums like rubbing worn brillo pads to an axe is anaccurate description of the guitar antics here. Fine to Drive may suit the cult-type listener and surely some will follow." Zero - Fine to Drive (CD Review) ". . .being one of the heaviest bands in the bay area has made this release highly anticipated among dirt-heads, stoners andyoung urban metalists alike. . . .influenced by all that is sick and wrong with musical inspiration. . .the songwriting, performances and recordings are in the same league as their influences [Kyus, Unsane and early Sub Pop]." Slap - Fine to Drive (CD Review) ". . .an all out rock attack! This is the kind of ass kicking music that scares landlords into eviction notices. . .a full, energetic andexplosive sound. . .This is one of those buys that after coming home and listening to it, you’ll realize that you’ve won!" City Revolt - band feature "one of the best local bands around. heavy and catchy with some of the best whiskey drinkin' two pack a day smokin' vocalsi've heard in a long time." |
