Artist History
A compilation of various members from the Toronto and Brampton Ontario areas; the four original members (Richard Russell, Dave Gilchrist, Kevin Ninness, and Adam Pothan) have been playing together since November 1998 where they were first emerging as a punk/ska band. Since then, the group has overcome many obstacles and is now coming back into the scene. In December of 1999 the band had recorded their first eight song EP entitled "Follow The Jackass" which was recorded at Harlow sounds in Mississauga, Ontario, and mixed and mastered at Silverbirch Productions in Toronto Canada. Working alongside Terrance Lee, who engineered Our Lady Peace's first album, allowed the music to reach its full potential. The group has won many battle of the bands competitions where they demonstrated their aggressive style and received a fair amount of money as well as recording time as a result of their success. Clearly their first recording was an instrumental breakthrough as their first album was composed of a hard-driving sound and the song "Where Are You Dave Law?" became exceedingly popular. The C.D. cover itself, was a poke at the "Follow The Leader" Korn cover, in which the children near the end of a cliff were replaced by mutating donkeys. Much of their C.D. sales has come from selling the album at their shows and outside concerts. Also the band's energetically fun, yet emotional music was shown on stage when they played numerous shows throughout Ontario. Their very first show was played at the El Mocambo in Toronto which was recorded live and portions of it are located on the "Follow The Jackass" EP. |
