Artist description
Based in Toronto Canada, Advance 44 specializes in the darker side of trance and techno. The band was formed in early 1999 and their first first EP, Uprise is now available on mp3.com. Sonically, the album is a fusion of driving trance progressions twisted through pounding jungle rhythms coated with ambient soundscapes. The ultimate goal of the project was to produce a unique blend of high energy music, the likes of which have never been seen before and never will be seen again on this mere planet. |

Artist History
Advance 44 had their beginnings in the CSS (Canadian Secret Service) where they worked in covert operations. At the height of the Gulf War, they were on a mission (the specifics of which remain classified) when things went wrong... terribly wrong. A devastating accident occurred and their entire unit was exposed to irregularly high quantities of beats. Although this dose proved lethal to many of their comrades, somehow they survived. It was later discovered that this incident was a setup and how they managed to triumph in the face of adversity is a mystery yet to be understood. Forsaken by their country, they went underground and took with them much stolen military equipment. They vowed to take revenge. For years they worked steadily, constructed a nuclear powered studio, and modifed a combat tank for their next mission. Having finally learned to control the mighty beats that were sent to destroy them, they now set out to achieve their goal: total world domination. |
