Artist History
Midwestern farmboy, Ted Ekman.
Moves to Boulder, CO. Starts death punk band, "RabitDonut". Cheap, over-processed gothic guitar noise, battles it out with punk rock drums and bass in an old barn. Records a 3 song single. Disbans.
Moves to Dallas, TX. Creates "Peter Luxury", a sort of industrial noise outfit. Burning piano props, powertools on sheet metal showering audiences with sparks, as a wall of organic industrial noise blasts from stages propped up on smashed cars. Performs 2 concerts. Records 1 concert video. Disbans.
Moves to San Francisco Bay Area. Goes solo acoustic writing songs which bare the soul and ignite the spirit, regularly delivering them with riveting intensity in bars & coffee houses around the bay. Independently releases 2cds in a 2year period. Hooks up with Michael Israel (drummer), and multi-instrumentalist, Patrick Conway to create the lush "Hearts Fail" EP.
Ekman currently earns his living gigging, busking and selling CDs. In the past 6 months concert attendance has risen dramatically from 0-15 fans to well over 100 at every show. He continues to gig and record, with a new CD, "NAKED", released in July of 2001', and a concert DVD scheduled for release in late 2001'.

Press Reviews
"...he's a powerful guitarist with a
powerful voice...his folky songs are
just lovely and haunting and sad.
In others he lays passionately
into his guitar and howls...
a force to be reckoned with"
-East Bay Express
" I envision him alongside Sting,
Van Morrison, Paul Simon, and
BruceSpringsteen. Ekman has a
voice as timeless as any of these
gentlemen and his songwriting
skills aren't anything to scoff at
either...Tremendous."
-San Francisco Herald
