Artist History Artistic Experience:Ricky has been writing and producing music for 7 years. His first published song "That Ain't Right," was written as a demo for artist Judy Albanese for Maxi Records. That song went to number 12 on Billboards Hot Dance Music, Club Play in 1995. That was followed up with "Happy," which became another hit for Ms. Albanese reaching number 9 on the same chart in 1997. Ricky's greatest achievement came in the spring of 1999 when the song "You," was selected as runner up in the John Lennon Song Writing contest. Then 6 months later that same song hit number 5 on that same Billboard chart and garnished Ricky with a publishing contract with BMG Publishing. Artistic Goals:While Ricky desires a successful singing career and is willing to put himself to the test, his eyes are not fixed on fame and fortune, but rather on touching lives with his music and words.Musical Influences:Many talented artists and performers influence Ricky. These are who inspire him most. Prince, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Joni Mitchell and Teena Marie.Personal Interest:Ricky's inquisitive and bubbling personality, along with his strong creative urges, spill over into other areas in his life, Including Poetry writing, weight training and writing that great American Novel, but mostly he spends his time doing what he does best.
